2026-2027 School Year

Dare to Homeschool 2026/2027 - (Cycle 1)

If you’ve ever wished your homeschool year came with a real plan—one that’s structured, speller-accessible, sibling-friendly, and not overwhelming—this is for you.

For families with a speller, homeschooling can be the best decision you ever make… and it can also be isolating and exhausting to piece together. The questions never end: What should we study? What comes next? How do I teach multiple ages? How do we make it accessible to a speller?

That’s why we built a clear, repeatable curriculum path for Dare to Homeschool Your Speller —and made it available in two ways: self-paced at home or in a local Community.

The 2026–2027 Curriculum

Cycle 1: Ancient History + Earth/Space Science (32 weeks)

The 2026–2027 school year includes 32 weeks of learning—enough for a full year, with room for real life: therapies, appointments, travel, breaks, and the pace of learning with unique students.

Cycle 1:

  • History — Ancient World

  • Science — Earth / Space

  • Literature: monthly read-aloud "book club"

  • Intentional Movement: Monthly checklists for intentional movement and body engagers

  • Math - Choose from Steps 1, 2, or 3. (If you completed level C math this past year, you'll be contacted with additional recommendations as a new level will not be posted this coming year.)
  • Language Arts - Choose from Steps 1, 2, 3, or 4.
  • Latin Step 1

Levels (and how they work this year)

Level A (ages 5–9)

Level A is designed to keep things light, fun, and doable—while still building real knowledge.

Level A alternates by session:

  • One session focuses on History

  • The next session focuses on Science
    …and so on.

So you’re never trying to juggle everything at once.

Level B (ages 10–14)

Level B is for students ready for more depth and more connection across topics.

Level B runs History AND Science concurrently throughout the year—so students can build bigger understanding and make more connections.

Skill subjects (choose your entry point)

Math

Choose Steps 1, 2, or 3.
If you completed Level C Math this past year, you’ll be contacted with additional recommendations, as a new level will not be posted this coming year.

Language Arts

Choose Steps 1, 2, 3, or 4.

Latin

Latin Step 1 is for Level B students only (launching for 2026–2027).

Literature: monthly “book club”

Each month includes a read-aloud pick with:

  • activities connected to the story

  • spelling lessons pulled straight from the book and theme

  • integrated language arts topics (so LA doesn’t feel random)

It’s meant to feel like a shared homeschool tradition—simple, memorable, and actually fun.

How the year is organized

Your year is broken into 8 sessions, and each session lasts 4 weeks.

Each session includes:

  • a clear weekly rhythm

  • a 4-day school week format

  • connected topics (so learning feels cohesive, not scattered)

  • the month’s book club plan

  • the month’s intentional movement checklist

This session structure makes it easy to start strong, pause when life happens, and jump back in without feeling like you’re constantly behind.

The 5-year cycle (so you can plan ahead)

Dare to Homeschool Communities follows a 5-year cycle for History and Science. That means you’ll always know what’s coming next—and you can stay steady year after year.

  • 2027: Cycle 2 — Medieval / Renaissance
